What a lazy afternoon. The sun is shining and you are wandering around Purdue’s campus, feeling its warmth. Why not make that walk even sweeter with a small treat to enjoy as you go?
There are many dessert shops in the Great Lafayette area. The desserts they sell differ a lot. But here are the top three dessert shops I encourage you to try for a change. All are near Purdue’s campus.
- Bohe
124 S River Rd, West Lafayette

Bohe is the place to go if you want to try new types of dessert, as it is an international dessert shop, and the owner of the shop is from China, where the definition of dessert is not limited to classical desserts. In China, actually, all types of food that do not count as regular meals are considered dessert. So drinks are definitely one of the most popular desserts people like to have in China. Targeting international customers, Bohe aims to create new recipes to make special drinks.
The drinks there are good-looking, and you can always take some beautiful photos before you taste them. Bohe makes their drinks with a mix of different types of juice and tea. Seoul Cup is definitely one of my favorites. The collision of orange juice and sparkling water gives you a very fresh taste.
Earlier this year, Bohe added snacks and easy meals. So, you can now enjoy a simple meal before you have your desserts.
2. Miss Sugar
107 N Chauncey Ave, West Lafayette

When you walk in, you will first be amazed by the lovely interior of the small shop. All walls are painted blue, and there is also a pink flower wall that is the best place to take a photo with your treat.
Miss Sugar is a place where you can enjoy various types of dessert from different cultures. They not only have many types of cupcakes and puddings, but they also sell hand-make Macarons of various flavors. They also bake a special flavored cake each day, but you may have to be there early so that you can secure one. If you or your friends are trying to buy a birthday cake, Miss Sugar also provides a special service of customizing cakes.
3. Tsaocaa
318 W State St, West Lafayette

A huge teddy bear is welcoming you when you walk in to Tsaocaa. The warm light and soft decorations make you feel like home.
Tsaocaa sells mainly all types of drinks, including bubble milk tea, pure tea, smoothies and much more. Recently, they started to make breads and cakes as well. Their best selling products include Tiramisu cakes, strawberry cakes, muffins, puffs and so on.
The milk teas are my favorite among all dessert shops. They refuse to use powders when making those drinks. They choose real milks and very good tea as their ingredients, so it will never disappoint you when you have your very first sip.
You are all sweet people so you deserve to have something sweet!
