Purdue will hold alumni advice panel for local job opportunities

April 8, 2020

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Brian Lamb School of Communication is sponsoring a free alumni advice panel for both undergraduate and graduate students to help them with local job opportunities on April 20.

This is the third alumni panel held by the Brian Lamb School of Communication and will be the last one of the semester. The panel will be about local job opportunities and how to find them if you want to stay in Lafayette or Indianapolis area. Two Purdue alumni will be there.

“I was amazed that I didn’t have to go to a larger city to find an interesting job,” said Ashley Scott, one of the two alumni who will be at the panel. “I think a lot of students just don’t know what is available here or how to find it. And that’s where we come in. This will be a very fascinating, useful panel.”

Scott is a 2010 graduate alumni. She is now the president of AGS Consulting in Indianapolis and the former operations manager at MatchBOX Co-Working Studio in Lafayette. Trevor Peters, the other alumni who will be at the panel, is a 2016 graduate from Brian Lamb School of Communication. He works as a news reporter for WLFI-TV.

They were asked by Marifran Mattson, the head of the Brian Lamb School of Communication.

“One of the most valuable things we can do as a school is provide our students with access to our esteemed alumni who have so much knowledge to share,” Mattson said.

The panel will be held at 3 p.m., April 20. Students can get answers to a lot of questions at the panel. It is free and open to all.
