WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Relatively few people in U.S. use online methods to get food, according to a survey published Monday.
In Gallup’s annual Consumption Habits survey, 83% of U.S. adult shop for groceries in person at a store at least once per week, and 53% eat meals out at a restaurant once or more than once a week.
Gallup first asked about how many people ordering groceries online in 2017, and the results are basically the same from that. In that survey, 84% people said they never order groceries from online stores.
Most Americans are still used to traditional shopping methods. There are only 1% of U.S. adults order groceries for pick-up or delivery more than once a week. And 88% said they never order meal preparation kit which contains fresh food.
